Congratulations!
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011This past weekend, a very special celebration took place.
E wanted a cake for her husband to commemorate his graduation from nursing school.
And from rescue diving for the Navy.
Wow. Amazing.
Together, we designed an adorable cake, celebrating the best of both worlds.
Bandaids and scrubs and a syringe…
Diver’s fins and an anchor…
And of course, a graduation cap on top.
Congratulations! Wishing you the best in your future career!
Merry Christmas
Sunday, December 26th, 2010I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
I really wanted to make a super cool, fun cake this year. I decided on vanilla cake with mint and dark chips to lend a peppermint taste, and then settled on a Night Before Christmas theme.
Stockings hung by the chimney with care and all that.
A tall tree is trimmed and standing on a striped skirt on a hardwood floor.
A fondant fire roars in the garland-trimmed fireplace. Cozy.
Delicious! And adorable!
Enjoy the rest of the holiday season!
Somewhere over the rainbow cake
Sunday, August 29th, 2010Sometimes, the internet can be a dangerous thing for me.
You see, I was reading this wonderful post by Martha Points who got the idea from The Whisk Kid, and I just had to give it a shot.
The rainbow cake, that is. Not for the faint of heart.
A smooth white exterior of swiss meringue buttercream conceals…
Six layers of brilliant rainbow colors.
Beautiful, festive and delicious!
Make your own and tell me all about it!
Gators by request
Tuesday, August 10th, 2010If you know anything about me, you know that I would only make a Gators cake if it really meant something to someone else.
Because I’m all about the Hurricanes, baby.
But my friend wanted something special for her husband’s birthday party. And he’s a Gators fan. So I created this football field cake with a fondant Gators logo for the event.
Two layers of devil’s food cake with a white chocolate filling, covered in smooth vanilla buttercream.
Chomp.
Happy birthday!
Hole in One for Father’s Day.
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010I made this adorable golf course cake for my father-in-law for Father’s Day.
It’s a vanilla cake, flavored with a hint of Bailey’s Irish Cream and filled with chocolate.
And the rest? Well, I think it speaks for itself. Everything is edible except the flag and pole.
Happy Father’s Day!
Happy Father’s Day!
Friday, June 18th, 2010What better way to celebrate than with this adorable dessert?
Because everyone loves cake.
Designed with a Miami Hurricanes fan in mind, this cake resembles a mint green dress shirt with white collar and french cuffs, a split U cufflink and orange, green and white flowered tie.
The cake itself is chocolate-coconut flavored and filled with shredded coconut and vanilla buttercream for a Mounds bar effect. Mmmm.

There is also a custom “i <3 dad” label detail inside the collar.
A Beautiful Wedding
Monday, June 7th, 2010This weekend, I provided a cutting cake and mini cupcakes for a gorgeous wedding at the Garden Club.
The room was absolutely fantastic – deep purple orchids and candles, and gorgeous accents in orange and teal and green, all based around the vivid hues of peacocks.
Breathtaking.
Over 150 mini cupcakes in vanilla, chocolate and banana rum surround the cake stand.
The lights from the candles in the background.
The tail of the cake topper is absolutely beautiful.
One more close up.
Congratulations to M and her new husband! Wishing you both every happiness!
